        • Each train will now have 20 upgraded coaches, including:
          • 1 First AC
          • 2 Two-Tier AC
          • 4 Three-Tier AC
          • 7 Sleeper Class
          • 4 General Second Class
          • 2 Generator Cars

Why This Upgrade is a Big Deal?

        • More Safety: LHB coaches don’t overturn easily in accidents.
        • Less Noise: The ride will be quieter and smoother.
        • Better Toilets: Say goodbye to old messy toilets—modern bio-toilets are here!

        Matsyagandha Express Was Upgraded First!

Earlier this year, the Matsyagandha Express, connecting Coastal Karnataka and Mumbai, was upgraded with LHB coaches on February 17, 2024. Now, passengers traveling between Bengaluru and the coastal region will also enjoy a safer and more comfortable journey.
