DK Shivakumar’s Political Moves Spark Speculation: BJP Praises, Congress Criticizes

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC President DK Shivakumar’s recent actions have sparked intense political discussions. BJP leaders claim that Shivakumar could become Karnataka’s version of Eknath Shinde if he joins their party. Meanwhile, his supporters argue that he will remain in Congress and eventually become the Chief Minister.

Amid this speculation, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP’s firebrand leader Yogi Adityanath has praised DK Shivakumar. His remarks have fueled further debates in political circles.

Yogi Adityanath’s Statement

Speaking in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly about the Maha Kumbh Mela preparations, Yogi Adityanath referred to DK Shivakumar’s statements while taking a dig at Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

Yogi said, “Many leaders, including Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, have visited the Maha Kumbh Mela, taken the holy dip, and appreciated its arrangements. You (Akhilesh Yadav) also went there, which is your belief. But your uncle (Shivpal Singh Yadav) could not go. So, are you making these statements just to please him?”

Continuing his speech, Yogi Adityanath further said, “When you speak from your heart, you speak correctly. But when you read from something written by others, you make mistakes.” He added, “As long as this country follows the ideals of Lord Ram, Krishna, and Shiva, prosperity will continue.”

Why Did Yogi Praise DK Shivakumar?

DK Shivakumar had earlier attended the Maha Kumbh Mela and the Mahashivratri event at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore. Some Congress leaders criticized him for participating in these religious events.

Responding to the criticism, Shivakumar said, “I was born a Hindu, and I will die a Hindu. But I love and respect all religions. When I was in jail, I learned about Sikhism. I have attended events at Jain monasteries. People from all religions bless me. I visit Dargahs and Churches too. Every community loves me.”

He further said, “My experience at the Maha Kumbh Mela was incredible. I welcome the arrangements made for the event. Managing such a massive crowd is not easy. There might be minor inconveniences, but I won’t focus on faults. Religion is a personal connection between the devotee and God. Some communicate directly, while others go through priests.”

Political Reactions

Following these statements, some Congress leaders criticized DK Shivakumar, while BJP leaders praised him, calling him ‘Karnataka’s Eknath Shinde’.

The political landscape in Karnataka is now abuzz with speculation about DK Shivakumar’s future moves. Will he stay with Congress or make a surprising shift? Only time will tell.
