Deputy CM DK Shivakumar Criticizes Film Industry for Lack of Support in Mekedatu Protest

Bengaluru, March 4: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has expressed his disappointment and frustration over the lack of support from the film industry for the Mekedatu project protest. He said that the industry should always stand for the state’s land, language, and water issues. However, in this case, he feels the film industry did not extend proper support.

After his statement, opposition parties criticized him, and now he has once again made strong remarks about the film industry.

Reacting to film director TS Nagabharana’s claim that the industry was not invited, DK Shivakumar admitted that an invitation might not have been sent but maintained that the event was still for the film industry’s benefit.
