Mumbai:
Rajasthan Royals’ 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a blistering 101 off just 38 balls against Gujarat Titans, has now found himself at the center of a disturbing controversy.
A female influencer named Nikita (handle: @Niuu_d) made an obscene remark about the teenager on social media after his explosive IPL century. Her post, which went viral quickly, said:
“I want to sit on Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s…” (explicit part omitted due to content policy).
If a man posted the same about a 14 year old girl, feminist girls would start calling all Indian men creepy.

But feminists won't outrage over this. pic.twitter.com/NSYFCe9L3Y

This sparked massive backlash, with users calling it blatant sexualization of a minor and demanding action under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences). Many pointed out the hypocrisy:
“If a man had said something similar about a 14-year-old girl, he’d be arrested immediately. Why not now?”
Realizing the heat, Nikita deleted the post, apologized, and deactivated her account. In her apology, she claimed:
“I was overly excited by Vaibhav’s performance and made a bad joke. I deeply regret it.”
The apology, however, hasn’t calmed public anger. Legal experts say POCSO could still apply since the comment involved a minor and falls under sexualized content.
