Lucknow: In a thrilling IPL encounter today (Tuesday) at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Delhi Capitals triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets.
Chasing a target set by Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals comfortably reached 161 runs in 20 overs, losing only 2 wickets. This victory meant Lucknow, playing on their home ground, had to face a tough loss.
Lucknow lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Their openers, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh, gave a fiery start. Together, they put on a partnership of 87 runs in just 10 overs for the first wicket. Marsh was dismissed for 45 runs.
Meanwhile, Markram continued his strong performance, scoring a quick half-century. He hit 3 sixes and 2 boundaries, finishing with 52 runs off 33 balls.
However, Lucknow’s middle order didn’t do well. Nicholas Pooran (9) and Abdul Samad (2) were dismissed early.
