Holi is Here! Let’s Have Some Fun!
Well, I think it can’t get more exciting than this—Holi is finally here! 🎊 Basically, it means that it’s time to play with colors, eat yummy sweets, and have a lot of fun with family and friends.
You know what’s even more special? The night before Holi, we light a big fire called Holika Dahan! It has a very interesting story behind it, and I promise, you’ll love it!

Holika Dahan: Why Do We Burn the Fire?
Well, I think it’s best to tell this like a story. So, long ago, there was a little boy named Prahlad who loved God (Lord Vishnu) very much. But his father, King Hiranyakashipu, was really mean and wanted everyone to worship only him.
Now, basically, it means that the king got very angry because Prahlad refused to listen to him. So, the king’s sister Holika (who had a magic shawl that protected her from fire) tricked Prahlad into sitting in a fire with her.
But guess what? Something magical happened! The fire burned Holika instead, and Prahlad was saved because he had faith in God. This proved that good always wins over evil!

Basically, it means that when we burn the fire on Holika Dahan, we are not just burning wood. We are burning away all bad things—anger, jealousy, and bad habits. People pray, sing, and wish for good luck and happiness. Some even write down their problems on paper and throw them into the fire! Cool, right?
