DC beats RCB at Chinnaswamy Stadium

Well, I think this is how it has to be because if you look then you will find this here—RCB fans faced a heavy heartbreak at their own fortress, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. And the one who triggered it? A fiery knock of 93 runs by none other than Karnataka’s own KL Rahul, who basically walked in like a storm and walked out like a winner.

So here’s how it all went down…

It was one of those classic Bengaluru nights when Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel won the toss and without hesitation said, “RCB, you bat first.” Honestly, I always believe that it has to be done like this—pressure first, chase later. RCB opened with Philip Salt and Virat Kohli, and man, they were fire in the beginning. Some serious six-hitting mood, and everyone thought, okay this is gonna be a 200+ score for sure.

But look, we have to take care of that one moment in the 7th over—because everything changed. Three wickets fell just like that. Salt, who had smashed 37 off 17, got run out. Padikkal walked in and walked out for just 1. Kohli followed soon after with just 22. And then Rajat Patidar tried to stabilize but got caught for 25—yes, caught by KL Rahul himself.

Krunal Pandya chipped in with 18, and Tim David tried to lift the spirits with a power-packed 37 off 20 balls (2 fours, 4 sixes). In the end, RCB finished with 164/7 in 20 overs. Not bad, but not bulletproof either.

Now, chasing 165 in Bengaluru isn’t a joke, and Delhi started with a shocker. Faf du Plessis gone for 2, McGurk and Porel gone for 7 each. At 3 down for almost nothing, everyone thought RCB had it in the bag.

But likewise, just think if this is how it is then what to do now?

KL Rahul walked in with all the calm in the world and started stitching something magical. He didn’t rush. He didn’t panic. He played the kind of innings that makes you sit down and say—this guy was made for this moment.

Even though Axar Patel went out after scoring just 15, KL Rahul stayed rock solid. Then Stubbs joined him and the duo made sure they stayed until the end. Personally, I think this is where the whole story changed. It wasn’t just about hitting big shots. It was about making a statement.

Rahul scored an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls—7 boundaries, 6 sixes—and Delhi finished the match in just 17.5 overs, scoring 169/4.

That wasn’t just a win. That was KL Rahul saying, “This is my turf too.”

With this win, Delhi Capitals now sit pretty at the top of the points table with 4 wins out of 4 matches and 8 points in total. KL Rahul, with his leadership and that beast-mode batting, has given Delhi the best kind of start you can ask for.

And for RCB? Well, they were hit by a Kannada hurricane… in Bengaluru. That’s gotta sting. But look, we have to take care of that one truth—when it’s Rahul vs RCB, it’s not always the home team that gets the love.
