What is AFMS Recruitment 2025 about?
The Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) is recruiting doctors in 2025 through the Short Service Commission (SSC). Selected candidates will join the Indian Army as Medical Officers (Captains).
When did the AFMS 2025 application process start?
There are two major recruitment rounds in 2025:

Is NEET required to join AFMS or AFMC?
Yes, NEET is mandatory, but the type depends on your entry point:
For MBBS admission at AFMC Pune, you must clear NEET UG.
For AFMS Medical Officer recruitment, you need a valid NEET PG score (unless you already hold a postgraduate degree like MD/MS).
What qualifications are required for AFMS Medical Officer posts?
You must have:
An MBBS degree (or higher) from a recognized institution
NEET PG score (unless you’re already a PG degree holder)
Permanent medical registration with NMC or State Medical Council
Must not have failed any part of MBBS more than twice
Age limit:

What is the salary of an AFMS doctor in 2025?
Here’s what you’ll earn when you join:
Basic Pay: ₹61,300/month
Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500/month
Additional Allowances:

Total in-hand salary: Around ₹1.2 to ₹1.3 lakh/month, depending on posting location and deductions.
What rank will I get after joining AFMS?
You will be directly commissioned as a Captain in the Indian Army (or equivalent rank in the Navy or Air Force, depending on posting).
What are the physical standards for female candidates?
Minimum Height: 152 cm (approx. 5 feet)
Relaxed to 148 cm for candidates from hilly or North-Eastern regions.
Weight: Must be proportionate to your height and age.
Examples:
If you’re 152 cm, your acceptable weight range is about 37–53 kg
If you’re 160 cm, it’s around 41–59 kg
Note : Underweight = disqualification. Overweight candidates may be allowed only if they pass strict medical and fitness checks.
What are the physical standards for male candidates?
Minimum Height: 157 cm
Relaxed to 152 cm for eligible regions (hilly/Northeast).
Weight: Also based on a height-weight chart
Example: A male who is 160 cm tall should weigh approximately 50–65 kg, depending on age and fitness.
Is there any written exam for AFMS Medical Officer recruitment?
No. There is no separate written exam. Selection is based on:
