Mysuru: The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has taken strict action against those involved in electricity theft. Officials from the vigilance team have identified illegal power connections and imposed fines exceeding ₹6.36 crore on offenders.
The operation was carried out across Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Kodagu, and Hassan districts, where CESC officials investigated cases of electricity theft and misuse.

A total of 1,312 cases of power theft have been confirmed among both residential and commercial consumers. These cases have led to a total fine of ₹6.36 crore and 72 thousand being levied.
Electricity theft is a criminal offense under the Electricity Act, and those found guilty can face strict legal action. CESC officials have intensified their operations to curb illegal electricity usage and ensure strict enforcement of the law.
